Prenatal Testing Services

What is Prenatal testing?

Prenatal testing is the process of detecting and diagnosing fetal abnormalities before birth. Many, though not all, fetal abnormalities can now be definitively diagnosed through this process. The tests used to detect fetal abnormalities include ultrasound, CVS (chorionic villus sampling), amniocentesis and blood tests.

How can prenatal testing services be accessed?

Prenatal testing testing should always be undertaken by specialists who are expert in the detection of fetal abnormalities. It is preferable to obtain a referral from a doctor or specialist medical practitioner to access genetic counselling and essential for prenatal testing.
