  • Noninvasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) is a new  test to detect the risk of Down syndrome and other chromosomal conditions in early pregnancy.

It is offered in some specialised centres by overseas based laboratories at a cost to the patient. The test uses cell-free fetal DNA in the mother’s blood to test for these conditions.
